Based on the success of Monkton’s popular half term Family Weeks, we have decided to begin offering a bespoke residential Family Week exclusively for home educators.
We have been busy putting together an exciting schedule of activities for the week, that will give you and your family plenty of opportunities for learning, play and quality time together. It will also be a chance to meet and spend time with lots of other home educating families and make new friends.
The activities on offer will be tailored to meet the ages and needs of participants but are likely to be a combination of some or all of the following:
- Wood working
- Mechanics and Engineering
- Art and Crafts
- Cooking and outdoor pizza making
- Science
- Problem Solving
- Nature based activities
- Drama Workshops
Please include on booking any activities your child is particularly interested in.
We are planning the days so there should be a good balance between structured activities and flexible or free time each day, to accommodate for the individual needs of your children.
A typical day may look something like –
8am – Optional morning activity.
9am-10am Breakfast/Free time.
10am – Morning circle and sharing, agenda for the day.
10.30am – Morning activity groups.
1pm – Lunch
2pm Gather for afternoon activity
Afternoon spent on activity, or can be used for play, socialising or family time.
6pm Dinner
Evenings free or loose activities (Bonfire, games, etc)
The investment for this residential is:
£200 per adult (£50 p/n)
£140 per child. (£35 p/n)
This includes:
Four nights accommodation.
Three meals a day including dinner on the day you arrive and breakfast on the day you leave.
All activities and materials.

We have two dates available for the 2021 family weeks:
8th- 12th November (Monday – Friday)
14th – 18th November (Sunday – Thursday)

Extra information:
- Payment is required in full to secure your place.
- This residential is open to all home educating families and all ages.
- Children under two are free if attending with an older sibling.
- All food is vegetarian. Vegan and gluten free easily catered for, Other dietary requirements can be accommodated. please specify this on booking.
- This residential will only run if a minimum of 7 full paying adults and 12 full paying child places booked. Refund will be given in the event we need to cancel.
- Each family will have their own bedroom, extra bedrooms are available for children over 12 if needed.
If there is sufficient demand we will offer more of these residentials in 2022 with the potential of themed weeks too.
