Residential art courses on the Devon/Dorset border at Monkton Wyld Court
with Gail Sagman and Christine Allison
Step out of everyday life for 5 days – create, share, breathe – return inspired and revived.
Gail Sagman and Christine Allison are experienced professional artists who have worked together over a number of years, delivering successful, creative art courses suitable for adults.
Their aim is to encourage creativity inspired by the natural environment, for both novice and experienced artists. Gail and Christine take participants on visits to gardens, woods and the seashore, collecting, observing, and drawing. Experiencing the land, sea and air of Devon and Dorset to inspire and stimulate the senses. They then lead workshops in making marks using natural materials: plus charcoal, graphite, collage and paint; working on paper, fabric, board, and in sketchbooks.
Gail and Christine encourage experimentation with a healthy mix of
abstraction and realism, always with supportive and positive teaching. All materials and sketchbooks are provided, and each participant takes home their creations, plus a sketchbook to continue working in after the course.

Course dates: 14 – 18 October 2024 and 25 – 29 November 2024.
There are 4 – 8 places per course.
Art course cost – £800 per person for all materials, tutoring, four nights’ accommodation, breakfast, lunch
and dinner.
