As well as hosting our own courses and workshops, our venue is regularly hired for external events. These include courses, workshops, retreats, children’s parties, staff away days, school, college and university residential visits and the occasional wedding.
You can tailor the venue hire to your event. You can choose which space or spaces you want and how long you want them for, whether it is the Pine Hall for a few hours, the whole house including the Old Library for the weekend or for a whole week.
If you are planning a course, then booking Monkton Wyld Court as a venue affords you the opportunity to set your own charges for participants, monitor bookings as they occur and allocate rooms to best suit your group. We provide accommodation for up to 38 people in the house, space for several camping pitches and full-board catering.
Whole house venue hire includes use of The Old Library, the Visitors Dining Room, Piano Room, and our outside guest spaces all to yourselves.
The largest and most popular of the spaces is the Pine Hall, just outside the main house. This measures 13m x 7m and has a stage with a piano and a sprung wooden floor suitable for dancing. The second is the Old Library on the ground floor of the main house, overlooking the terraces. No longer active as a library, this measures 8.5m x 6m and is a light, elegant and almost-empty room with a large bay window. Both spaces come pre-heated when needed by cosy wood-burning stoves, have adjacent toilets, and can be furnished with cushions or chairs/tables for seating and/or working.
We can also cater for other large events such as weddings. When we host a wedding we only like to do so if it is going to be as low-impact and eco-friendly as possible. We also do not plan weddings for guests so if you did choose this option you would just be renting the space.
If you would like to self cater then you can hire our catering kitchen for £100 per night. Due to the wooden food preparation surfaces this kitchen is vegetarian only.

The cost of the whole house hire is £1250 per night.
