After the last couple of years we have all realised how precious time with the people we care about really is, especially during the festive season.

So we are delighted to offer you this special opportunity to gather together and stay with all your family and friends at Monkton Wyld Court for Christmas or New Year 2021, and experience the magic of Christmas in this beautiful countryside retreat.

This rustic 19th century Gothic Mansion can comfortably sleep up to 37 people with plenty of space for you and all of your loved ones.

The spacious and truly unique accommodation is arranged over three floors and includes:
13 bedrooms with a versatile range of bed arrangements.
A very well equipped, beautiful traditional Victorian kitchen with original flagstone flooring. It has multiple ovens and hobs including a wood burning Aga. There is a large island table where you can prepare Christmas dinner and lots of other lovely meals, and a separate adjoining wash up area.

Also available for your exclusive use along with the main kitchen, is a wonderful large dining room with plenty of seating and dining space.
This lovely space is perfect for socialising and playing board games, or keeping warm beside the wood burner. It has an attached smaller kitchen with a kettle and urn for hot drinks, a small fridge, toaster and washing up area.

There are two other large communal rooms for your sole use – The Old Library on the ground floor, and The Piano Room on the first floor. Both of these have comfortable sofas and seating for relaxing, and both have wood burners to keep you nice and warm. The Old Library also is a perfect space for parties and has plenty of room for dancing and socialising.

The bedrooms will be made up for you when you arrive by our in-house Elf. All bedding and towels are provided, however you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Many of the bedrooms have some original and interesting features including beautiful arched gothic style windows and far reaching views across the valley.

The majority of the bedrooms also have their own sink. We have one accessible ground floor bedroom which is suitable for those with limited mobility, and can sleep up to 4 people, the rest of the bedrooms are located on the first and second floors.

Total cost £5000.
A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking.

New year 2021-22
Whole house booking, up to 37 people, for four nights self catering:
Thursday 30th December – Monday 3rd January.
Total cost £5000.
A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking.

(This works out as £50 per person per night based on 25 adults sharing, less if you fill all the beds)
We have a range of homemade and local produce available at an additional cost which you can order in advance ready for your arrival. Please ask for a list of this on booking.

Extra information:
Monkton Wyld Court is a Sustainable Education Centre. The Court is run and maintained by a busy residential workers cooperative and a team of volunteers.
The whole team usually includes around twelve adult community members and six volunteers who live onsite. The running of the Court is overseen by a board of Trustees and Monkton Wyld Court is a Registered Charity.

The main house was built in 1848 and still retains much of its original charm and features. As such it is fairly rustic in places and well loved.
Some of the grounds are uneven in places.

Please be aware that the kitchen does not have a microwave, and there is no television available in the house. However there is Wi-Fi available in parts of the house, and good 4g reception in the grounds.
